Hello to all OSO'ers,
I am a newbie, not really sure where to post this. But here we go.
Boats have always been a passion of mine. Ever sense I was a kid I did anything I could to get on the water. Luckily as the years pass and I grew I finally started getting more involved and acquiring my own boats here and there. My last boat which I will get into in another thread. Really killed me financially and ended in tragedy.
Around that time I very much wanted to start my own boat company. I did a lot to preparation for this. Full business plan, shop, design renderings, models, found molds, found skilled labor, and tons of research on supplies, buyers, etc. That was in 06 when everything on the water was hot. Then before ya know it BAMB! There goes the economy and the first thing to go with it was the boat market. So I started a company in a different industry. Its been rough but has been progressively growing. Its not what I love. To be honest I almost hate it and now that I don't have a boat any more I feel like a salve to a semi corporate world. My life feels so black and white not being on the water.
Then more tragedy. I found I have a canceris lymphoid growing which was once removed and has now returned. This form is hereditary and I would rather not go into detail, but now I am looking at things a little differently. I might not have as much time as I thought.
So now I want to leave my mark in the world. I have access to two molds (i'd like to star small I guess). A 23' mono Deep V and a 26' stepped mono Deep V. Both have racing heritage and include credentials. My ideas are completely out of the box, cutting edge and yet still very realistic while maintaining the technology needed to grow into a new evolving marketplace. All I really want out of this is two build one boat out of this. If I last to make more then that thats a bonus.
You can buy the molds and let me make a boat out of it or we can discuss a possible strategic venture of some sort. I am very open minded. This is something if serious I would fly out and show you some of the models and plans. But be assured I am not looking for anyone who can finically take on such a commitment, which means I will do my research to verify you aren't "blowing smoke". I have years of experience working with composites and started a successful venture. I am selling all my assets to achieve this project, so i'm dead serious. Someone once asked me about this. They said, "how detected are you?" I replied, "I only love two things in this world. My wife and boats." If you are as serious as I am and obviously want details, email me([email protected]). Not sure if I can get PMs yet but give em both a shot.

I have always wanted to design a boat. I have had my own auto repair shop for 20 years. I have always said if I could build boats and be on the water than my life would be complete. Where are you located? Mark

Which molds are you looking at? If they are the 23's in Calif.. I can give you some heads up.... the 26 step bottom... if the same one's I'm thinking... WAY over priced... I would be willing to help you keep the remaining time you have left as peaceful as possible by saying: How to end up with a million dollars in the boat building business.... start out with FIVE.

thats unless you do business with Todd Cimino (mid Ocean) and get ripped off by him then have to go out of business like he did.
Chase your dream but be realistic. DO the research. If you really want to build boats, start small. I did, when i was 18 i put myself through school- college building fiberglass R/c gas powered toy boats to NFL players. Now i am building an 18 commercial boat. If you have questions let me know id be happy to guide you and answer your issues.

now how in the hell is someone like todd cimino who's had a long tradition of f@ckin ripping people off left and right thru the years allowed on here????? if all you need to do is change your screen name every few yrs and continue to do people wrong i think they need to implement a screening process thanks for the heads up toasty that "mid ocean" is the same p.o.s that wasted a few days of driving plus fuel and a mth of threats trying to get my money back out of a set of engines that were obv pulled from the bottom of the sea. freakin amazing!!!!!!
and i'm sure i'll get the same threats of good ole todd threatin to sue me for slander like the last time but read your legal books there todd its not slander when its proven to be the truth over and over and over and over !!!!!
