Default Trailer Drums. Swap?

Thought i'd throw this out there. I have 4 hydraulic brake drums. 12x2", good shape. I need 4 six lug ELECTRIC brake drums. Did a surge to straight electric conversion.

I did not know there is a difference. But electric brake drums have a machined surface the magnet rides on. Most new trailer drums have this surface, so they work with either setup. My drums dont have this surface since my trailer is a 1990 myco.

Anyhow, if anyone has 4 drums sitting around that would work, or needs 4 good hyd drums (6 lug)

Try Jim Hawk Trailers. They carry a lot of light duty trailer stuff at the location near me in CB, IA. Not sure what their Chicago location carries. Complete drums with bearings and seals were only about $50 a wheel.

Thanks guys. Couple of online places i looked prior wanted like 100.00 bucks or more for each drum kit. Saw online some said the older drums can be machined for the magnet surface, but wtf, how cheap can i get. Just buy some f'n drums will ya!

Hindsight is always 20/20. Shoulda just did the elec over hyd conversion and been done....
