That 1.52:1 ratio will not work with a performance boat as the raitio is changed in the drives. I see it's a TR/TRS tail stock, what did it come from? Possibly a 1:1 drive??

You know Kurt would never give any misinformation and say anything something that isn't true . And it's on the Internet so it must be true !

Not sure why this old thread was back to the top but..

Given the fact that it was behind a TRS (1.50:1 ratio)... Going out on a limb here but I'd be willing to bet that even though the tag reads 1.52:1 it's actually a 1:1 gear with the reduction unit removed from the back of the case???

Sure got more resale as a 1:1 unit.

Maybe Marc @ BAM will chime in here.

It got brought back up because my friend here wants to trade me one of his Borg 72's for my BAM 1350 because he said they are the same tranny . I was just checking to see if it was a fair trade but your on his listing posting that they will not work in a high performance boat !

A 1.52:1 gear will not work in a performance application but if it's actually 1:1 , it's fine. FWIW, a BAM 1350 is a LOT stronger than a stock 72C (they do share the same cases)
