IMCO XTREME SC ADVANTAGE Upper

4 Attachment(s)
I have one like new Imco Xtreme SC drive I've had this for a few years and never used it I had drives already. It comes with the drive shower and steering cap. I also have a exact match case with a new steering cap and some internals that are good. I wanted to put it together and have a set. These would make someone a good set or a drive and a spare. I will take $3500 for the pair. I need to move some some stuff I don't need them.

Nobody needs to upgrade their bravos or just need a drive. I don't let stuff sit on here i want these gone make me a offer.

Whats the history on the upper? That's a Mercury Bravo upper case with Imco stickers on it.

Yep that's all it is a old bravo with a sticker on it!

The gears in the good upper are straight cut gears and it is in good condition (ready to run) - correct? Thanks, Bill

That is the older style of IMCO drive(about 10 years old). I had one on my Pantera.
The case on mine looked the same as a Merc Bravo case, but was quite a bit thicker in some places. My Imco upper had XR gears.
The top cap had studs and spacers direct from Imco with the drive shower. Something has been cut or modified on the cav plate and then the SS plate added.

I believe the cavitation plate is original, but he installed the additional IMCO cavitation plate since he had the IMCO lower. Here is a picture of my older Bravo upper with an IMCO lower and the add on cavitation plate from IMCO. Bill

IMCO calls that a "splash plate" for some reason. I just had to get one last month.

DesertRage 08-15-2013 08:13 AM

Thanks Griff for the clarification. I've never seen the older style IMCO cases.

They also have a bigger main shaft. They have many upgrades from the XR's. If you think that this is a regular Bravo with a sticker on it this isn't the drive for you.

The splash plate on the back is a option from Imco they make different ones depending on the length of your drive. This is for a -2 Imco shortie they also make one for a -1 Imco.

Nothing is cut it just gets extra holes to mount the splash plate.

This came off a 2005 boat and had very low hours not sure exactly I've had it for two years and never used it. Its a very nice drive not all scratched up or any corrosion on it.

I would easily us it I just bought a set of drives ready to go and I'm not going to use these.

Relax, I'm very familiar with the current IMCO SC's and Bravo XR's. I've set up a bunch of them. I've just never seen the old style case. Looks really close to a bravo.

As far as the upper "main shaft" being larger... There is a clutch shaft and an input shaft and they are the same size as Merc XR's.

IMCO does build nice heavy cases.

Conquistador 08-15-2013 06:07 PM

Imagecat. I sent a PM. Thanks, Bill

Then don't make a statement like this. If you don't know would have been cool to ask I'm glad to help.
The clutch shaft is different then a stock XR.

I called imco today and they rate these sc uppers at 600ft. Lbs and use xr gears with stronger cases. The scx upper is rated for 800ft. Lbs
I was also interested in this drive for myself

Just thought I'd share what I was told from the guys at imco
