JE Pistons 257984 forged 509

Rummaging around my house I forgot I had these! 4.500 bore/4.00 stroke with 6.135 rod.
C/H 1.645 includes rings/pins/spiro-locks. All brand new from JE. These are top quality 2618 forged pistons
Ideal for a blower application. I ended up going with 10.2-1 Compression with my 509 so I never used these.
I just checked Jegs and these are $785 so how about $550 shipped anywhere In the continental U.S.
Call or text 813-49four-494nine I will send you a pic of everything In the box if you like... TBF

Nobody building up a mean 509?? How about $500 plus a a actual shipping or free pickup in Tampa?

Jfoster 08-07-2014 08:02 PM

I'm building a 509 but I need at least 10:1 compression

tpabayflyer 08-07-2014 10:48 PM

Yeah, I did the same... aluminum heads and 10.25-1 with SRP Pistons.... I was originally going to stay with iron heads and just run 87 octane but got a deal on some Aluminum heads and decided to up my game!! Its been a pain fueling from the cans so I picked up a nice 30 GAL Fuel Dock with a nice 1/2 hose gravity feed that gets the job done fast! These pistons are really a work of art!

I'll still running the hp 500 heads on my set up. With 93 Octane

Got to check and see if these are what I need . Blown 509 maybe 540 in the works .

If you go 509 sunrocket has a set of h-Beam rods for sale that will be a perfect match for these pistons..... I don't know about 4.25" cranks but the compression distance would probably not work with these pistons in a 540.....

Stock compression you should be fine with 87 octane?? If you go 10.25-1 C/R with iron heads I think you are asking for problems...... Aluminum heads should be OK. I run 34* timing in mine and even overheated it up to 235/240* and it did not knock even once.... It was at idle of course and I do have aluminum exhaust and Intake that really draws the heat from the motor fast...... I would not go that high on compression unless you use aluminum heads......

Waiting for a reply from RMBuilder . Not sure what would be my ideal cr . I'll let you know when I know .

OK looks like pistons are sold to a crazy man building up a mean 509 with a 3.3L Whipple supercharged! Glad I could be part of the build! TBF
