Pair of 525SC motors
6 Attachment(s)
I have a pair of 525 SC motors as seen in the pictures. They are gen 6 blocks. They were rebuilt in 2007 but never fired off since rebuild. I have been told that due to the motors sitting the blowers should be rebuilt and that costs 600 dollars each blower (quoted price at the Blower Shop as a total rebuild). Looking to get 9,000 for the pair I am into them for over 15K. I am selling because I sold the boat I was going to put them in. 978-nine eight five-06three nine

That's a good deal. Nice to see you on here Audiofn.
Thanks man. Been a rough last year for me so have not been able to be on as much as I once was. Hope things will start to turn around and I can start to catch up again... Loosing my shirt on these motors but I guess that is boating right? LOL
Hey these would work great in my boat
Are they still for sale |
are the blowers 177's or 250's ?? also I see no distributors, do they come with them ?
These are still available. They do not have electronics. They are 177's. There were some small mods made that should yield between 550 and 575hp.
Pm pics can't see any

I can see the pics fine.
This is a SMOKIN deal!!!!!
Thanks I know I am loosing my shirt on the deal!
Dothey have the stock roller cam, or a better one?
Different cam. It was estimated that we would be looking between 550HP and 575HP. Unfortunately I do not have the specs on the cam. I think one of these is sold pending payment so if anyone is interested in the other let me know.

Actually the stock cam shaft in a 525SC is not a roller cam.
Hail of a deal!!! I have two long blocks and they cost more to build and machine than these completes
Like I said I am into them for a LOT more then what I am selling them for. Most people would sell stock 420's for more then this. I think because they are Gen 6 they are roller cam motors? I am willing to take off the intake for a serious buyer to confirm and photograph the internals to show that everything is clean.

Yes I know the pain. SO I dont sell any of the high dollar stuff. I hoard them

Certainly, you need engines like these to get it moving. Having said that ,550-575 is still with the reliability zone that you need like the OP says, go through them and not only freshen them up but do a few little tweaks with the equipment that's in them
All they really need is to be re-oiled on the lifters and check the blowers. That is really just for insurance more then anything. That is a simple thing to do. If they don't sell soon I may freshen them up myself but then the price is going up... I could probably be convinced to drive north some if that helps.
I can't believe you still have them. Yes, gen 6 came stock with roller cams.
Ya it is brutal selling anything these days. I have had two people tell me the check is in the mail and then back out for no reason. Problem is i have told other people that they are sold in that time. Some one is going to get some really nice power for a deal just need to find them.

how did you get these engines audiofin? straight buy? out of your boat?, trade? just curiosity...
I purchased them from the guy that rebuilt them. He had them in a 38 Top Gun and was building some big HP motors. I was going to put them into my 302 project but life has gotten in the way of that project and I figured I would let these go for now.
Thanks Jon |
