Does it work like a standard seastrainer that you can put directly to the engine cooling or is it just specific to superchargers in some way?

This one is for cooling superchargers. I originally had two. I used the other one for keeping sand and dirt out of my intercooler.

Johan, sorry for the confusion.

The sea strainer filters the water coming into the intercooler. You can plumb it off the seawater pump hose with a tee fitting, buy a two stage seawater pump and have it separate for a dedicated supply or do like i did and put a through transom pickup as a dedicated supply. Several others have installed a through hull fitting dedicated for just the engine and use the drive pickup/seawater pump to feed the intercooler.
