What boat were these on ?

We bought these for a 42 fountain project that never was finished the boat sold as a project new owner does not want the ASD they have been sitting for 15 years .

These are my old drives. They were purchased originally from Rik by Keith at CK motorsports and installed on a Formula 40SS and have test time only on them. I bought them to use on my 42 Fountain project then I found Popeye and some ASD8's so the drives were sold to a guy in TX who was working on another 42 project. Sad to see they haven't been used, but they still look great. This is a deal as I bought them from Keith for $35K back in 07 (I think).

Are these an obsolete part? I am interested and it's not that far of a drive. I'll be checking with my builder tomorrow to make sure this will work for our application.

Parts are not obsolete, Rik Wimp is who you would go through to get parts or help with rebuilds. He has always done me right and is a member here on OSO. I have only had to get prop bushings and have a few hundred hours on my ASD 7's. Im MartinB what are you thinking of putting them on?

What he said. Have $700 worth of parts in the mail from Rik right now. Called, shipped next day. Always been that way.

This the brand new kit for 50k?

I haven't kept up with prices on new ASD'7's lately, but mine are::
•. Either 1:32 or 1:36 gears
• 2nd owner, bought them about 4 years ago, but never used them or installed them
•. Originally freshwater usage
•. Original owner claimed he got in some tax trouble shortly after installing them about 2 years/seasons or so prior/before and had been sitting unused ever since.
•. Were originally on a small Cat (long tie/center bar)
•. No props, needs new boots, BAM transmissions w/original Merc Blue 🔵 paint --- they look brand new.
•. Reason for selling:: I MAY be going in a different direction and have at least two boat projects going on, and 6 engine projects going on, but still may use the ASD's ---- too many irons in the fire at this time.
•. $31k or best offer

By the way I am willing to separate the transmissions from the sale of the ASD's if somebody wanted for a reduction of my original price.
The trannies are NOT a dry sump, but they are possibly rated @1350hp ... I would have to get the numbers off the trannies and ask Marc at BAM. I will try to do that the next few days so I can put a price on them, etc.

If it's only the trannies you are after I have had to reconsider as I have decided that I want to sell the trannies with the drives.
Unless somebody wants the 2 ASD drives without the trannies, then I'm willing to Sell them in that way.
