Bravo Bulkhead Oil Fitting
Guys,
I made one of these for my boat, on the advice that the hose barb gets brittle and breaks: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9c46a63fb.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8a60b9b64.jpeg It would appear there is some interest, so I will be turning up a batch of them, and have them available. They are made from 316 stainless, and the hose barb is welded. This should pretty well be a forever replacement for the fragile plastic OEM unit. I will not be providing the O-rings at this time. $150 each, shipped CONUS. PM me with any interest. Thanks. Brad. |
Guys,

Those are real nice Brad! Wish you had those 5 or so years ago when I rebuilt my drives. You need to have a retaining clip on a short stick sold with it, as attaching that retaining clip was a real PITA on my boat.

Chris Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't help you with installing the clip. It's just gonna be a PITA to install while the engine is in, no matter what. Which is why I replaced a perfectly good OEM one with one of these while mine was out. I should never have to replace it again. That's the whole selling point. I will say this, though, just to put it out there.... There was no clip on mine when I removed it. It had obviously been replaced at some point before we bought the boat, and they gave up on installing the clip. The oil line connecter obviously does a sufficient job holding it in place. You do NOT have to remove the drive to replace this fitting. Just turn the wheel all the way to the left, make sure the bellows hose clamp screw body is out of the way, and it comes right out. Thanks. Brad. |
lol…. Thanks Brad.
if I keep my bravo drives when I swap in new power in a couple years, I may replace them for good measure to know I have the best parts to not leak or break in the future! |

Guys,
Any interest in these? I know there are engines out right now, and that is the time to replace/upgrade them if you're going to. Thanks. Brad. |

Yessir! Send me a PM. Thanks. Brad. |
That is a really nice piece. I follow Jarrod and A SHIP SHOW and sow these.
I just replaced mine with the OEM one. Not fun with engine installed. I would like to buy one of these but I am unable to send you a private message because I just registered. Maybe you can send me one a private message if you have any left. Thank you. |

We’ll exchange info. Thanks. Brad. |
Sounds good.
Save one for me if you don't mind in the meantime!!! |

Guys,
I just shipped two of these and thought I’d hit this thread up and see if there was any more interest. This is prime upgrade season. If anybody’s got their drive off, now is the time. Thanks. Brad. |

MerCruiser Oil Reservoir Fitting Assembly
Do you have any made up and how soon would you be able to send one out? I'm up in northern Alberta Canada.

Great part! Perfect fit.
Giving this thread a bump because I am very impressed by the quality and the fit of this part. Brad obviously knows his craft. I just replaced both of the bulkhead fittings in my 2007 Chaparral 310 with Bravo III outdrives. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined getting in there with the engines in. And these new SS fittings slid right in! I'm glad I bit the bullet and replaced both. I'll never worry about them again.
Mercury engineers take notice! This is part you should be putting in. Thanks Brad! - Craig |

Ok, ;)

Guys,
For the record, I now have the O-rings for these. I’m not really even sure why I initially stated wouldn’t. They will be shipped ready to install, less the C-clip. You’ll just reuse the one you took off the old plastic unit. Thanks. Brad. |
How do I purchase

You’ll have to get your post country 10, then send me a PM. We’ll exchange numbers and continue via text. It’s easy. Just spam a dead thread with “9”, “8”, “7”, etc until you clear the hurdle. I prefer Venmo. Thanks. Brad. |
Hi Brad,
searching for this now for a while - have two Bravo 3 X - does your parts work with them? Thanks Lars |

Will do.
I am sitting in Switzerland - but have a forwarder address if that works for you. |

I am sitting in Switzerland - but have a forwarder address if that works for you. That’s a good thing. I just looked into shipping to Sweden. That was big, fat farqing nope. Thanks. Brad. |
Yep - shipping abroad gets complicated with all the taxes someone over there raises :cool-smiley-011:
|
BTW - does that thing have to be connected to the ground wire for corossion protection?

They are made from 316ss; both parts and the welding rod. It’s pretty well impervious to just about everything. Unless you’re boating in hydrofluoric acid, you’re good. Thanks. Brad. |
Yes Sir - I read that in your description and I highly appreciate the precision this parts are made.
What you describe is exactly what I want to emphasize here - even the clamp on the bellows gets a connection to the anode system via the bell housing since the stainless material is the last thing which reacts - don't get me wrong - just want to be sure that the transom is not corroding away around your stainless pars. Thanks Lars |

Thanks Lars To be honest, I can't say for sure that there is no potential for galvanic corrosion between the transom assembly and the fitting. But, realistically, aside from some minimal contact between the fitting, the C-clip and the transom plate, there is no contact between the fitting and the transom plate, as it's suspended on the O-rings. I would venture to say there is more potential for hard water and live animal buildup in the gaps between the parts than there is for any corrosion. Thanks. Brad. |
