What is wrong with this site
 

What is wrong.
It takes forever to load and just about every time I try to post I find that I have to log in again.
That and I am not that fast of a typer but I am at least two words ahead of the screen.
And it is not my computer because it only happens on this site.

i have posted many times but it disappears or never shows up its too sanitized now

Needles to say it's happened to me. I thought they were blocking my post. Glad I'm not the only one.

So how do I fix this.
This happened years ago but then it just stopped.

I don't know? I'm having the same problem.

Trying to log onto an ad I had posted was impossible. Every time I asked for help all they did was send me my password, which I already had.
They need help!

I have said it for years now that site jacks up my computer. Something attaches itself like a virus and or malware. In the past year, I bought a brand new laptop and this was the very first site I went to. Since that day I have issues all the time with my laptop, downloading, it jumps and kind of resets all the time. I wanted to see if it was this site hence, I went here first before any other sites. I have Web Root for virus protection and it does nothing to help against this site.

Don't really help to be a platinum membership. This really sucks. Sorry it's the truth.

one of the things its doing is reading all the cache on your desk top, if you've been on Amazon this site knows it and starts flooding your screen with popups, its see's every where you've been surfing and starts loading chit from those site, and it usually wont display the page you want until its finished, Yes it sucks...and an ad blocker doesn't seem to help.

Adblock Plus is your friend. It works and I've blocked 15 ads on this page alone.

There will be some sites that will block you from reading the content if you have ABP on, but I consider that a small price to pay for more security on my devices. I also have it on my Android.

I'll give it a try Indy, what browser are you using here ? I moved off IE several months ago and am using FF

Use Firefox browser and enable Ad Block Plus...every thing works fine after that. If you are using IE...good luck.

I'm on Google Chrome and have Ad Block Plus (free edition) also.

Absolutely no issues.

Unfortunately for the true advertisers of this site, I do not see their ads either.

Once or twice a day, I also delete all my browsing history/cache/passwords typed, etc,etc and end of day run SuperAntiSpyware free edition. I have Norton running in back round. A few times a month I run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free edition) just in case.

AdBlock Ultimate (free edition) got OSO working on my pc.:eureka:

Adblocker ultimate did solve the problem.
pages load in less than a second now.

Having the same problems. But not when on my phone. Also when on my computer I get this message that the certificates are wrong.

I can`t even get on any more thru my regular browser.

This is all I get

Fire Fox and Adblocker + is working great

Nothing wrong here. Chrome + Adblock.

What annoys me is that IBforums has few paid-subscription forums and out of the few forums I am still a member on, THIS one works the worst. I just don't see a reason to pay anymore, its actually more of a hassle to come on here as much as I used to enjoy it. I don't understand the changes they've made here but no where else :throw:

I'm sorry you're having a technical issue. It may just be a bad ad that just started.

Please do the following for us:

1. Screen shot the page you're on where there's trouble, and post it here for us.
2. Let us know your browser, if you are on a phone/tablet, and if so are you using the mobile site or the full desktop site on mobile?
3. CLEAR YOUR COOKIES.

If you are still having issues, let us know and we will do our best to fix.

A final note: discussion or promotion of ad blockers is not allowed, since this is an ad-supported site. Thanks.

the page seem to perpetually refresh even when the page has already been loaded.

gotta talk to your head software manager and see what is causing it. could be the new code that was installed...for example the "Like" button.

I've tested this on Safari and Google Chrome, does the same thing on both browsers

This occurs on all pages that I visit in OSO. When I'm at the top of the page, it takes me to the bottom and vice versa and continues to do this over-and-over again.

The site has been intermittently slow for me the last few weeks. Also, my McAfee virus has been going off a lot due to many of the ads.

The various video ads in the long black box on the right are also causing the screen to move around and forcing you to watch them.
This makes posting and reading the site near impossible.

The use of ad blockers was driven from members having issues using the site, I understand the business end of it and the need to generate revenue, but some of these are causing issues for the very people who support this site.

Mine keeps reloading and jumping back to top or bottom, Can't stand it ! this is the only site that does it

Unfortunately, the way I look at it Ibobi, is that your company has let a bunch of trash outside click advertising on this site, which not only ads clutter but makes huge negative performance issues, and some security issues. This has forced us to use programs that unfortunately also block out paid for advertising on this site. I say unfortunate because seeing site sponsors is actually good for the members. We need them , not only to help pay for the site, but so we can buy parts from them for our hobby at hand.

Looks like you are blaming us with finding a fix on our end.

I'm pretty sure that blaming your customers is not the better way to handle this.

My opinion that I hope you take into atleast a little consideration.

99% sure that is being caused by the video ads down the right side that are loading and changing as you view a page.

man they must be making a ton of money with all these Vegas style blinking ads going off all the time.

Do they promote their classified ads anywhere else to bring in other people beside the common viewers up here daily.

I don't spend near as much time on here as I used to, simply because of the giant ads that usually cover most of the page, and the issue stated above in trying to type a quick reply is interrupted every 8 seconds by the page jumping.
I'm too old and my attention span too short to try and keep up with it..

It seems to be running much better today.
No more page jumping up and down and running much faster.

I agree and if not even worse currently. Times you out from typing posts, skips, jumps and everything is delayed when you click on it up here. The skip / reset jumping around of this website while typing is the worst. You type something and nothing shows up - this is constant all the time that happens to me. And its prob a year of doing so but has gotten a lot worse. The laptop seems to be constantly running something in the background while on this site. No other site does this and I do not search porn either to throw all those viruses at it including viruses from those porn scants. haha

Ads just start on their own with voice talking ----- an example just had Trivago start an ad with voice while I am typing. I do not even click on any of these ads nor anything. This has been happening for about 2 months. The site has turn into like watching TV - every 2 mins a commercial comes on.

We are not allowed to mention it (the fix) any more due to site rules.

But I can say see my and other people's previous posts on this thread and other threads on the same subject.

Then make you sh!t work right without phucking up everyone's user experience. You are in the customer service business, THe reason for this boards existence is for the enjoyment of the end user. YOU make money because of the end user. Not because of the ads. If you have no end user base, you have no advertiser revenue. I as well as many others PAY to use this sight. And your going to tell me not to discuss a way to make this function properly after you jack it the phuck up?? Get a clue and come out of your mom's basement.
