If you are using the old carb motor then this is the same thing they used to use on 525SC. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...52703_-1_10327 Last one on list, supercharge 174BB Chevy, complete kit brand new. Weiand bought the rights from the company that used to make them for the Merc. I think it was B&M. There are all ready lots of thread on here about this question. |

Whipples are cheaper. Don't think there is much of a HP difference.

im aware of the price thats why i was asking trying to figure out why the P-charger is twice as much. There must be something to it other than a heat diff. and i have read alot of the threads just looking to here some more.:)
Also you can adjust the boost to make more power, but if you do that, you can buy a different top loader style that matches the power output. You also get better frequency with the top loader/ screw style. I think you can only go up to 7-8 pounds of boost with the squirrel cage/ pro charger style. With the top loader/ screw/ whipple style (they are all the same) you can go to 50lbs of boost if you want to. If you have the hood clearance, the top mount style is always the way to go. The pro chargers make a lot of heat, but are good if yo udon't have room under the hood. |
Also the pro- charger will actually make MORE power than the one I just posted because it has more boost. The one I posted is a good charger because it is designed to go under tight hoods also.
If you want as much power as a pro- charger you have to go with this one http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...49014_-1_10327 1st one on the page. I'msure Bigansy will have his own opinion also. |
