For the record I only fell in the water once Wade.
Thanks for the kind words Spk1 but If I had to pick a crew it would be the yellow baja. There might have been better ladies at the bars and card stops, but I wouldn't know.
I geuss it was better then work but it is a pretty tight race.
Thanks for the ride and tow Creedo and Wade

Man, I wish I didn't have to work during every poker run from now until Conroe (Islander only). I am really going to miss you guys on those runs this summer
You speed guys really know where it is at. Everytime I passed one of those cruisers with 15 women the only thing I could see was jealousy on there faces

Ditto on the card stops. Thank you for taking the pictures, just reminds me of everything else that I didn't see. No offense Tom, can't control bad luck.
As for work, I should have brought Scary Mary.
Creedo and Wade. Your tab at Steak Night Tuesday is on me. Don't drive yourselves there.

It was a very frustrating weekend. So much preparation went into this run it just takes all the fun out of it. I would like to start with some thankyou's from the beginning.
Kevin, Jeff, and Joe. I could not have gotten a better crew from the Navy. A lot of good stories and jokes were made on the trip down.
Joe wasted no time gittin the oil line put on Friday morning. Once we realized we had a fuel line issue. Blackwood and Ms. Stultz spent hours lookin for parts to get it going again. Then we realized the roller rockers were out of adjustment. Jeff had no problem getting them corrected.
Strip Poker and By U Boy were helping me on the phone with logistics on finding parts, all weekend.
We got the boat loaded with gas and had all the engines runnin by 11:00 PM Friday night. I new my crew was tierd. Other members were returning back from runnin on Friday afternoon with grins from ear to ear. My crew were cutin jokes and laughin about my problems. Everyone was just excited about the run on Saturday.
Saturday morning came around, you would have thought it was Christmas Morning for us. Everyone was up and ready to go at 7:00AM.
We launched and thats when we broke another fuel fitting. Jeff and Joe jumped in there and got the problem resolved as we were going down the Bayou.
We thought we had the problem corrected, only to notice after we went over half throttle we would lose all power. Creed gave us a few bottles of gas treatment, Jeff swapped out some more filters. Only for the problem to come back again.
Finally in the middle of Lake Pontrain she could not be recovered. Creed and Wade found out the news and came to our rescue. They gave us 4 new filters and drained gas out of his boat to prime mine. It was then apparent the problem was bigger than we expected. Creed and Wade did not hesitate to hook up the boat and drag us to Madisonville.
Mike Nelson picked up Jeff and took him back to my truck to bring the trailer to Madisonville 45 minutes away. Only to get it loaded and taken back to Hammond. Once we got to Hammond I got lost and felt the need to drag a 42 Fountain through all the parts of the hood.
We made it back to the hotel around 10:00 PM. None of my crew got a chance to experience Crazy Charlies or Prop Stop. For this I am truly sorry.
For those of you who I took your time away from a fun run. I am also sorry.

I talked to Lefty this morning, they stayed an extra night in LA, i guess all the high rollers went to Le Bares for the weekend. I figured the poker run would have been enough of a sausage festival for them but i guess not......
Shake and Bake said the Lake charles run in a must!!!! Beautiful water, 350 mile round trip and dock to dock only three hours and then a fine old hotel and casino when you get there!!!
Glad everyone had a good time and made it back home safe!!

tom from a guy who wasnt there's perspective there is nothing to be sorry for.... $hit happens to all of us and thats why these things are organized in big groups and everyone can be there to support everyone else and what goes around comes around and i am sure you would do the same for any of those folks if the shoe was on the other foot.
I do have question however, as Joe and Jeff started to burn in the sun, did it smell like bacon? And do you think you will be able to get the smell out, or will it always smell like Waffle House on your boat now???
