HOUSTON -- METRO said Tuesday that a bus driver was at fault for a collision with a METRORail train in downtown Houston, KPRC Local 2 reported.

METRO investigators said the light at St. Joseph Parkway at Main Street was red for about 10 seconds before the driver, Debra Harrison, ran the light on Monday afternoon.

Nineteen people were transported to the hospital. No one was seriously hurt.

Officials said Harrison was counseled for a speeding violation in November 2008 and was reprimanded for turning right on a red, which is not allowed in the downtown business district, in November 2009.

The union that represents all METRO employees said it wants an investigation into the signaling system at the corner of St. Joseph Parkway and Main Street.

"We've had out operators tell us on numerous occasions that along the rail line, these signals will go from red to green without a caution," said David Gollinger, president of the Local 260 Transport Workers Union. "We expect them to do a full investigation of the signaling system."
