Texas Shoot Out

Ok Guys

You will have the best seats in the house, I will be needing course saftey and med boats. We have test and tune on Friday, the real deal on Saturday.

I have several slots open, call me for the best seats.
Some of you have already been taken care of.

karen

Did we mention the fast boats?

BY U BOY 03-15-2008 10:02 AM

whats the requirements for the safety and med boats?

MZEZ 03-16-2008 09:33 AM

Patrol boat requirements

This event is a bit easier than the usual. I need ALL kinds of boats, shallow draft, jet skis, cruisers and go fast.

This is a straight 1 mile course (3.75) total it will be alot less wear and tear. Markers will define the entry and go zones as well as the course end.
The usual radio and cell phone apply. There will also be a flag

We will need some coverage on Friday and Saturday.

Patrol Members do not have to be TOPPS members.

I am encouraging ALL boats to come and enjoy this event!

Call me if you have questions, 832-233-3095,
Karen Patterson
Safety Director, TOPPS 2008

What are the speed brackets?

Thanks.

Yes and Yes:D

Seriously there will be more info forthcoming on brackets but the best thing about a premier event is that we get to make up the rules as we go!

Looking forward to seeing y'all there!!

Looking forward to coming.

Hope the old girl holds together until then and water is favorable for a good run.

What are you guys going to do if it is high wind. I know that area, and it is usually pretty rough when it is not windy????

Thats a cool boat Jeff. Did you have it out Sunday? It was ROUGH as you know. We were skipping across the tops of the 4-5 footers at 70!!

gerritm 03-17-2008 02:18 PM

I spoke to one of the organizers and that barring some unsafe wind or wave conditions they are going to run it in any condition that is deemed safe. Everyone will have to adjust their speed and driving to match the conditions of the day.

Andy, were you out on Galveston Bay Sunday, or on Lake Conroe. We went out Saturday on the Bay and it was perfect. Stayed in on Sunday, very bad.

Could make for some interesting runs for the smaller guys. Not very often its calm in that area unless its early early in the morning.

THLWL 03-17-2008 06:46 PM

Also, area not protected from ship waves. Boats will be trimmed to the max and running hard. Someone will have to be positioned to watch for incoming! Hopefully by May though, the fronts will be gone and wind will be from south. This will help a lot.

BY U BOY 03-17-2008 09:32 PM

who is going to be a safety boat?

No Gerrit it was Conroe. Rough as I've ever seen it. But it was fun though. It was all I could do to get my wife to launch me up there as she had the flu and didn't want to go to Kemah. I heard ya'll had a nice run. P.S. Some new guy up there has a 50' Hustler called "Insanity".

Never saw a 5 footer, but I did fly off the top of the ocasional 4 footer.

They probably looked bigger since you were in your SKI boat the day before. :evilb:

You need to enter that bad boy race boat of yours in the Outlaw Challenge! Tune up that carburetor! Put some bigger jets in the secondaries!!

MZEZ 03-24-2008 07:07 PM

Permits for the Challenge are for 10-5 on Friday and 930 - 7 on Saturday. These times will change as the registration be3comes more of a known factor. Shift lenths will vary due to available crews and conditions.

Glad someone has there checkbook out.

While you are at it, I will be needing a 100 gals of 103 low lead from the airport.

I can put "Beak42 Radiology and Ski Boat Charters" on the deck.
