My dream car arrived today
#31
I've always loved the BBs, seen a few in the 60s to 80s lately in California.
Even though they are Heavy, the 512 TRs have also been in the same range and a very sweet car, (red only).
Even though the 308s/328s are light and handle well, they are slow, they are plentiful and V8s so not going up too much in price soon.
I'm very impressed with the Modenas. I see them hot lapping at the track all the time and they are as fast many full race GT1 cars, out of the box, and that is saying a tremendous thing for a stock production car. Porche GT3 Cup cars and TTs don't even get close to that.
Funny though, the 2000-2004 Z06 is just a hair slower around the track and the prices, used, have come down into the 30s for that car, if you are looking for a car to flog at the track.
The new 2005 ZO6, w All Aluminum 427 small block, and dry sump oilling will be out this summer, rated at 550 hp. this will be the new track monster, putting all eurotrash asunder.
Bruce Canepa in Scotts Valley ,CA. had 20, yes that was 20, 959s that he was upgrading the suspension and turbos and making street legal in the last year.
I have seen a few of them on the road the last few months so I assume he has been successful. This is the definition of Supercar.
I have been bitten too hard by the race bug to leave anything stock, and I'm over classic car handling. I can't put up with it anymore.
I sold my 500+ HP Full Roller BBC street Stingray last summer and havent looked back.
I content myself with my stroked 415ci SBC 600hp, 600 ft/lb,
1988 Full road race Corvette. It's about as bad as they come, (when it runs).
And back to classics, My brother has been doing very well at the auctions buying and selling Pontiac GTOs, his latest is a cherry, '64, #s matching vert w 4 speed. I beleive it is available in the high 40s to low 50s, (in Ft Lauderdale) still a bargain in the muscle car market, and Goats are awsome.

My garage is getting full.....
Actually my friends garage has gotten full (70 - 454 vette conv, 59 vette, Z06, BMW X5). I am housing the 65 (maroon) because he ran out of room. I don't mind at all.
Two vettes in my garage over about a thirty day period. My neighbors are trying to figure out what is going on, LOL.
