Transom straps for aluminum trailer?
#11
My 288 sits on an ACE trailer and the bunks look exactly like yours,, I was thinking to make some plates with an eye hook and through bolt them onto the end of the bunks and put straps straight down from the transom hooks to the end of the bunks..

I have a Ace trailer with the same set up. I spoke with ace and they told me to take the left bunk and turn it 180 degrees and put it on the right side and take the right bunk turn it 180 degrees and install it on the left side of the trailer,so now I don't have the bunk hanging off the back of the boat.
As far as strap mounts I drilled a 1/2 hole at the rear of the I beam by the rear tail lights and that works great.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't have the boat on it yet and am just getting it measured to adjust the bunks. If I don't have too much tongue weight I may move the boat foward and try to flip the bunks. Otherwise I will try the strap on the bow eye and run the rear straps back. Thanks again.
