Default 6.0 Powerstroke oil leak

anyone ever had or having oil getting on the underside of the hood right above the turbo? My 04 has been doing this for quite some time, my dealer has changed a couple of things they said was it, it is still doing it! They want me to bring it in next week for a couple of days so they can basically experiment with it and drive it around. Not so sure I want someone I dont even know out driving my truck for 2 days! It has been back 4 times so far, may have to take it elsewhere. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks

I just had mine in yesterday fot the oil on the bottom of the hood thing too. They replaced the oil supply line for the turbo. This was the first time I have had it in for this problem, I just drove it 800 miles today so I will check it in the morning and see what it looks like.

same problem here.... i have not brought it in fo in yet.. check out the www.dieselstop.com.. lots of info there on the 6.0... im told its a plastic line to the intercooler thats not sealing right. most of the problems with the 6.0 is at the local dealers they do not work on enough of them to really get to know them. most dealers have only one tech to work on a diesel, so its a crap shoot if he is any good.. i love my f-450 and love the 6.0. we also have a f-550 with the 7.3, my 6.0 smokes the 550.. anyway, hope this helps....

Thanks for the replies.. I went back to the dealer Friday because they had put dye in the oil a few days before. They looked at it Friday and still dont know where its coming from. On top of that the mechanic that looked at it was all over my grill and bumper, found out today after cleaning up the truck, he scratched the he@@ out of my grill!!! They wanted me to bring it back Monday for a few days so they could play with it and drive it, I dont think its gonna happen, I dont want some stranger driving my truck around for 2 days, especially after they scratched my grill up with me standing there!!! Have not said anything to them yet, but am taking it to a different dealer to look at it Monday... Let you guys know what I find out....

I chacked mine out today and the problem seems to be resolved, no more oil on the engine or hood This is the first time I have had it in for engine work, seems prett reliable to me, Mine is a 04' F 550 and I have 47k on it now. Only other problem was a snapped ball joint, that was ugly. Both times they have got it in and out for me quick though, oil leak was fixed at suncoast Ford in Hudson Florida, Ball joint ( and spindle, wheel, tire, tierod, and bumper) were fixed at Cross Roads Ford in Cary North Carolina, I would recomend either of them, they both have a seperate truck shop with techs that know what the hell they are doing.

Thanks for the replies, I take it in the morning to a different dealers service dept. to check out. A couple of days ago when I had it back at my dealer (fourth time) to check it again, I thought the mechanic may have scratched my grill, because he was all over it and my bumper, cleaned the truck up and sure enough grill is scratched all to he**.

I had the same problem, the oil supply line to the turbo was leaking but my dealer got it fixed on the first try.

bb, if it's been in four times for the same problem and it's still unresolved it more than qualifies for a buy back through the lemon law and the '05's have some nice new features

Took it to a different dealerships service department 4 days ago, they worked on it about an hour and put on new EGR valve and new throttlebody gasket, they claim this is what was leaking??? Have not seen anymore oil on hood yet, but will keep a eye on it! Ford had to buy back a truck from me back in 1995 because of lemon law, starting to wonder if I am on that same road again with this truck??? I do love this truck, but I lost it 5 days for the tranny recall, 3 days due to another oil leak, plus been back 4 or 5 times for the one I am dealing with now with oil on the hood....
