I have a black '96 Sport exactly as you describe- it's now my son's. I wasn't aware that it was available with a diesel- I've certainly never seen one, other than a military CutV

They exists in diesels, a buddy had one (96 i think) His was all silver w/ matching leather interior. Why would you want one, I seem to remember it wasn't much better than my 6.0 gas suburban.

I had a '96 LT, Green/Silver with the Vortec 350. I LOVED that truck. I really want one that I can lower, put some black wheels on, and justify driving as a daily driver, (diesel). I am not sure a Sport model could have been bought with a diesel. I do know you could have a Z-71 with a diesel; very, very rare though.

DD,
Thanks for sharing. That is a sweet looking 'burb! I already have a 2500 Avalanche for towing duty. I want a nimble 2-door Tahoe again to run in/out of downtown DC with for daily driving, as a diesel to be a little more fuel mileage friendly.
Below is a picture of my old one in the mountains of WV.

I think I've seen maybe 2 6.5 Tahoes in my life. I think it would be a cool set-up. Kind of like the tugs that they attach to the front of jumbo jets to bring them in and out of the jetway. Turns on a dime and grunts pretty well. Good luck with the hunt.
