Whats a 99 Ram 2500 with the cummins worth
I'm looking at a 99 Ram Ext Cab. Has the cummins motor with 110k. Also has a plow overall it looks to be in good condition. It need some cosmetic things. Has new steering box brakes. Motor has upgraded exhaust but other than that its stock. Its has the 6 speed standard shift.
Thanks |

Buy it! I bought mine with 100k miles on it, and now it has 212k. No problems at all, gets 22mpg and pulls like a mule. Still feels new...

Re: Whats a 99 Ram 2500 with the cummins worth
The six speed is a bonus. They were hard to find in 1999. Most were 5spd trucks. You will want to have someone do a flow test on the lift pump to make sure it is not dying. If it is, you can figure on spending a couple hundred to replace that and if it has been that way a while figure on replacing the injection pump as well soon. That can run upwards of $1500 for a reman. I would say you would be safe spending at most 12k for the truck if everything checks out ok. I sold my 2001 with 50k, 4x4 auto loaded quad cab for 22k about 4 months ago and average black book on it was 19k. If you figure the truck you are looking at is 2 years older with over 100k miles, then I would guess 10-12k would be safe. Check the Turbo Diesel Register for more information. That is the place to go for Cummins info. Good luck.
