Driver faces reckless driving charges for fatal crash in Chesterfield

Charges have been filed in connection with an accident that killed a Chesterfield woman. Police say 25-year-old Benjamin J. Frazer was pulling a trailer with his truck when it came lose, crossed a median in the 13-thousand block of Hull Street and struck a car.
The driver of that car was killed. Frazer is now charged with reckless driving.

They showed the truck and trailer on the news. It was a blue and silver lifted Ford SuperDuty. The trailer looked like a rather beat up car trailer. Not sure if there was a car on the trailer or not.
Lets all tow with common sense folks.

To bad this means nothing to some risky people. Just watch, there will still be questions such as... can I tow something that is three times the tow rating of my truck?

I did not see where he was towing more than the truck could,just said it came loose,that was just someone not checking hook ups

After 4 years of towing, I found that all the bolts on my class 3 hitch had worked their way loose. This was a factory install. Now I make a point of re-torquing them every spring.
Safety chains etc not much good if the whole hitch comes loose. I have heard that most failures are due to wrong size ball or ball coming loose from the ball mount.
Worth checking all that stuff regularly
