Block Heater for 2005 Excursion PSD
Well, it is supposed to get cold this week here in Ky, 15 degree's at night and I want to hook my Block heater but I can not see it. I bought this vehicle used 2 months ago, so I'm not really sure even if it has one (I do not have the orginal sales list for the vehicle). The manual states it it has this option it should be near the passenger side of the truck near the frt tow hook area. I crawled around on both sides and I still can not see it. Has anyone have any ideas about the location or is it possible that this vehicle did not have one installed from the manuafcutrer.

My plug is under the bumper in the wiring harness on the drivers side by the front town hook. You can't see it unless you look up at the harness. I can find mine real easily now that I know where it is. Not sure how to tell if you have it or not. maybe you can call a dealer with your vin number and have them look up the original equipment list.

Actually in Az. it's not. I don't really know anyone else who has one. Most of my friends think I'm crazy plugging my truck in at night. I like the fact that the heater works almost immediately and you don't have to wait for the truck to warm up.

With the compression of a diesel....I think like 18 to 1??? It is always nice to give the motor some minor heat when down below 30....you can here the difference when plugged in...we plug all of ours in with timer to come on at 4 am due to electric...not bad this way!

If it was not ordered on the vehicle, it is still there. They just add the plug when you check the option box. Worst case scenario, you will need to buy a power cord for it..

on my BBC Burban...the heater chord was tie wraped inside the engine compartment on the trans cooler lines....i needed to route the plug to the front of the truck to where i wanted it.....check around it may be there just off to the side some place...

Just pulled mine down yesterday. It was zip tied to another wire (fog light maybe, wasnt paying attention) in back of the tow hook, in front of the trans cooler.
