Re: Snowmobile advise
I raced snowcross for years so I've be on them, in them and under them (have the scars to prove it) alot. So here is a quick lesson. Your throttle is on your right and you operate it with your thumb. The brake is on the left and you use your index and middle finger to operate it, I never take those 2 fingers off the brake. If you have a choice get the most cc's and a long paddle track. The paddle track uses more HP but you will have more fun with it when you get in the deep powder. To ride hard you will need to use alot of body English (leaning side to side or stand forward and back, forward for cornering and back for accelerating and deep powder).Your throttle is your friend, when you are on a off camber bank or hill just lean into it and open it up. When braking it is better to NOT to lock up the track, just brake hard but keep the track rolling so the snow will spit out the back and the cleaned out lugs will dig deeper and stop you faster, plus if you lock it up the rear will try and pass the front. If you get good at jumping and go for some big air remember you have a big heavy track under you, if your in the air and find your front end to high hit your brake and the centrifugal force of the track will bring the front end down, the same goes if your nose is coming down to fast, just gas on it and the centrifugal force will bring the front end up. Jet skis, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers will hurt you, snowmobiles will kill you, cliffs and trees are not forgiving. Also alot of the snowmobilers you will be meeting will be drinking so ride like everyone you meet may be drunk and you will have to be on the defense. I hope this helps, and if you ride it like you stole it you will have a blast JB

LOL, sometimes I forget how brand loyal snowmobilers are. I rode for 12 years. Took last year and this year off. Always got a kick out of the Polaris vs Ski-doo vs Yamaha vs Artic cat thing. My sled is faster than your sled.
Bottom line, on the trails it's 90% rider and 10% machine. Fast guys can ride fast on ALMOST anything. It's a great feeling sitting at a stop sign and waiting for all the "fast" 7s and 8s catch up!

beleive it or not i usually stay in newberry, everytime i try to ride to paradise something terrible happens. the closest that i have gotten is the falls. i dont think i`m supposed to go to paradise for some reason. those are some fast trails in that area.
