I second what Sydwayz says:

I have a 2500 w/ 4.10 axle 4x4 rated to pull 11,900 lbs. I would add airbags for maxing it out.

I have a flowmater muffler- dual exhaust and that helped w gas mileage/power a bit. For your current boat it's perfect.

If you step up to the 38TG than a dually may be the way to go.

BTW a 2500 Avalance has the similar suspension set up as a 2500 HD GMC with single rear wheels.

I'll second that. I rolled mine over a couple of years ago towing a 24 ft car trailer. Weight was BELOW rated weight. Had bars and a stabeliser. Wind caught the trailer and I was out of control within 3 seconds. BTW if you get in an accident with more weight than your vehicle is rated for you will NOT have insurance. They are checking that now, so play it safe and get a dually, because the life you save may be mine!!
