I own both, 06 models, and prefer the Fords over the GM's and I am typically a GM man. Better suspensions for towing, more room, and have had less problems, either way a good truck, drive both. Hook up a trailer with the weight you will be towing and you will understand what I'm talking about. Jeff

Curious as to why you state your 6.0 will "turn to junk soon". Is it exhibiting problems?

Because a lot of people spend too much time reading crap on the internet and get worked up for no reason. Common sense says since one person had problems the rest of the world will. ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Have better things to do then read crap on the Internet , if you say this sight is crap , go ask you local ford dealer , go look in his lot , go try to get a 6.0 repaired , the 6.0 is not motor compared to a 7.3 , just wanted to know if some gmc , folks had a opinion , JERK

I've owned five of them and two currently. One had 380K on it and never opened up. It was the "infamous" '03 motor. You're right, it's no 7.3. It's a vast improvement over that underpowered, smelly, noisy beast.

I am on my second Dodge 2500 Cummins, one brother of mine is on his second Ford 6.0(2500 & 3500), and another brother of mine is on his 3rd GMC/chevy 2500.

None of us has had any issues with these trucks. Seems Ford and GMC have more GVWR choices than the Dodge.

We have had several of these trucks due to employee discounts and such and traded up every few years.

The one with the GMC probably has put his truck through the most abuse due to farm work and pulling loaded down cattle trailers and no issues.

Can't speak for Ford, but I had a 2001 Cummins until last March when I bought an 04' Chevy 2500HD with 6.0....the Cummins was great--just very loud--Last Tuesday I bought a new 06' LBZ Duramax and love it. In my opinion they are all great trucks and are comparable between gas and diesel....it's simply a matter of looks and what you prefer.
