Thanks for the info OUWS. I am dually shopping, and was contemplating a SB dually, however I don't tow as much as a 47' Fountain or your current boat.

While all the dealers want premium prices for them calling them rare, I know they are a harder resale. All the more reason for me to look for a longbed.

I pull the Tiger with a short bed. Works very good for me. Don't need anymore length to navigate.

Poffenbaugh Ford in St. Cloud Fl. had 2 swb dually crew cabs in stock, one black and one white(for 06 the only colors they came in) and weren't priced any worse than the longbeds, the big problem I found was in trying to find one, most dealers want to sell you what they have in inventory and don't want to go through the hassle of a dealer trade/exchange because it hurts the profit margin. Just the observations I personally found when I was searching for the particular truck I wanted.
The package I found was exactly what i set out to find,,,except for the interior color,(mine has tan leather and I wanted the dark graphite)
Good luck in whatever you get, this is my 2nd 6.0 and I've been entirely happy with both.

I have a shot bed '05 Dually and it does just fine. I have pulled up to a 44 MTI on the back and no problem. The one picture is the truck pulling an old heavy Ciggarette (pulled no problem and handeled fine). I have a chip and exhaust done to the truck.

You guys have no balls. I use a short short wheelbase. And can turn it within it's own lenght.

I use to be in the towing business. I have over 225,000 miles of towing experience. I had a 1TON , crewcab, long bed dually for towing. That's the only way to go for towing that kind of load without moving up to a larger truck.

The extra wheelbase in the longbed will give you much needed stability--especially if you need to use brakes on a downhill. People who tow with a small, underpowered/underbrake powered truck are crazy!!! I don't care what you say, a small vehicle does NOT have the stopping power to stop a boat of that size if you needed to. Besides, if you have an accident and your vehicle is not rated to handle the weight you are screwed

That's for better traction. All that power under the hood ain't worth squat if you ain't got traction!
