Default Denali Towing

I know this has been talked about, I did do a search but didn't see what I needed.

What is the most anyone has towed with a reg. (short) Denali??? The boat is a 28ft Saber on a triple axle trailer, I'm thinking around 7000lbs. I have my Crew Cab dually but it would eat me alive in fuel going from Kansas to New York and back.

What year Denali? That will make a difference in towing capacity. I'm pretty sure the late models are good to 8K and the Yukon Denali XL even more. Not sure what the brand new model is since it's a whole new machine but, probably at least the same or more.

I towed my 272 Formula 400 miles each way with a Yukon (not an XL). It's GW is 7000/7500 lbs and by the time I got there I was white knuckled . Around town or 10 miles to the ramp was fine but on the interstates I was being blown around by trucks and busses. The longer wheel base of the XL should be an improvement. I towed for years with a 'Burban and it worked very well with a BBC but that only did about 5/6 mpg

My 01 XL Denali was OK. Ate 2 trannys though.... in the TN mountains I towed an 03 29 Fountain with steel trailer @7500?lbs. Got squirrelly on some occasions. I wouldnt try it with a short one for too long of a distance. I towed mine from TN to TX and it was something I wouldnt do again. Around town or under 100 miles I could easily deal with it.

Well that is kinda what I though, I Shouldn't do it!! It's my wifes car, its a 2001. I was just thinking it would be more comfortable to drive for 2200miles I can use my 1998 Crew Cab Chevy Dually w/454 but that darn thing gets under 10mph!!! (I think I need some new injectors) it is getting hard to start sometimes and my Gas MPG went to $hit. I'll probably just get it fixed and use it!!
Thanks Guys!!!
BTW, Here are a couple of pictures of the Hail damage my truck got over the weekend!!!

I have a 2002 Denali, all wheel drive. Towed a 7ooolb 20ft enclosed trailer from Ca. to Florida had to replace the front differential when i got here. Dealer wasn't to sure if it was towing related. I was using sway control.

You'll be more at ease with the dually. I think the Denali ride would seem a hell of a lot longer.
