Programmers throw your mileage computer waaaaaaaaay off. Hand calculate it, and you'll be at 15-19 mpg like everybody else.

O, by the way......go GM!

I have been going to Lake Havasu for approx. 7 years now. Fords were the dominent truck out there by far--it was like a 8 to ratio. The Havasu marina parking lots holds something like 1,500 boat/trailers spaces and it gets usually 75% full on most weekends. This is only 1 of the ramps/parking lots, there are a few more.

Since Ford came out with the 6.0, the tides have changed and now the Chevy/GMC trucks are the dominent trucks out there by the same 8 to 1 ratio. I had a Ford with the 6.0 and it was nothing but problems (2003 model) so I sold it and bought a GMC and have been very happy with my Duramax/Allison combo. I peronally like the Chevy/GMC trucks over the Fords and Dodges, but I think it's all personal preference.

I jusy sold my 04 6.0 today had my share of problems with it
but I'm still on the fence as to get the all new body chevy or the completely all new ford with the 6.4 twin turbo for the o7 models. one day I lean towards chevy and another ford. Hopefully they come out no later than June and I can test drive them both and make up my own mind.

Pick up a low mile 2000-2003 Ford with a 7.3 to get by until the new motor issues are worked out. I just got lucky on a great deal with a 2000 7.3 w/ 58,000 miles. As Ford keeps putting themselves in a bind, their 7.3s are holding their values. I just went from a gasser 8.1L GM to a PSD, and I will admit, I REALLY miss my Avalanche. However, I do like towing with the Ford F350.

Final assembly for Duramax engine are the Flint and Pontiac assy plants in Michigan.

FYI,

For Duramax motors built after 6/1/05 including 06 LLY's and LBZ's: Bullydog, Superchips and PPE now all have programmers available.

I'm waiting on the Edge/Attitude combination due May/June.

actually, the Dmax engine assembly plant is in Ohio, complete engines are then shipped to the respective chassis plants from there.

I wasn't sure about that but found this on GM's website http://www.duramaxdiesel.com/11_faq/index.htm#11

Q: Where is the final assembly point for the Duramax Diesel?
A: Flint and Pontiac East (both located in Michigan) manufacturing facilities are the final assembly locations for the Duramax Diesel.

On further searching I see that they are manufactured in Morraine Ohio by GMI Diesel Engineering Ltd.

I sure hope not but if they do I just talked to my brother and he said I can borrow his 05 PSD as long as I give him something to drive meanwhile.
