Air Intake
Alright who has what and what gains did you get.
I have an 02 excursion with gibson exhaust and hypertech. No change in noticeable power or fuel mileage. Wondering if air intake may make some changes. Scott

Re: Air Intake
Which motor?
I have been researching this a lot for the 7.3L diesel lately. K&N is not preferred on www.thedieselstop.com
Most folks who are really into HP and protecting the engine/turbo are running the Severe Duty Ford AIS product. It flows better with a few simple plastic cutting mods, and the Donaldson filter element is far superior.

Re: Air Intake
Give the K&N with the FIPK a try. I have had it on my last two (gas) trucks and like it a lot. It was on my Tahoe when I bought it, so I don't know the difference, but I added it to my 8.1L Avalanche, and definately noticed a crisper throttle response, and little more muscle sound.
The K&N does not provide enough filtration in order to NOT damage the turbo. Since it sucks so much air, and it has to go thru the turbo first; the K&N was allowing turbo damage to take place.
I don't believe the Ford Severe Duty AIS is compatible with the V10.
