Default Medium/heavy duty truck sales

I am looking at a medium duty GMC C7500 truck with a 25 cubic yard trash/debris dump body on the back with a grapple loader and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the truck more than anything... good things, bad, etc. What I know about it is this. 02', auto, CAT engine, single axle rear, air brakes, 71K on it. So gimme the good bad and the ugly on it. They are asking 55K for the truck, and after some reasearch on the net' it seems more than fair for it. I have found 91 and 94's that go for a similar price.....

So let me have it, whatcha all got out there?

Chris,
Look at dieselplace.com.. Those guys will have more real information than us boat guys...

I would say that it would be a good truck, simply because it's a GM and not a Ford.

Which Cat engine is in it? 3116's suck,3126 is a good engine. We've had roughly ten 3116 engines and dropped a valve in one at 75,000 miles, two with 140,000 and they are wore out, they have no power, and use a lot of oil.We have five 3126 engines and they have been trouble free.

Chris, 02 will be a 3126. Motor should be just fine if you follow the valve lash maintenance recomendations so you don't end up with a dropped valve. Watch the oil change interval, etc. Many fleets are running that chassis with that driveline with great success.
