Neither are a very good tow vechile unless you are towing something real light

I looked up their specs and the Denali maxes out around 8000 and depending on the engine in the 1500, you could be 7000 to 10,000 for a tow rating. If you're committed to buying a GMC, the truck with the longer wheel base would be a better tow vehicle if you're going to be close to the max rating.

37k for a 1500? Find another dealer. You could get a 2500HD with a diesel for a little more and be able to pull anything.

Either should pull the mini hawk just fine. :drink:
And the ladies will dig the big back seat in the Denali :evilb:

Re: wHICH ONE BOTH VERY NICE.

the denali has the LQ4 6.0 under the hood, also available in the 1500HD and 2500's. It makes 325horse in the denali and 300horse in the PU trucks. 360 ftlbs of torque in both applications. The regular 1500 has a 4.8 or a 5.3, the latter having 285 horse. The denali doesnt have a low range T-case, so that might be an issue for pulling heavy boats out of water on steep ramps but it is AWD. The transmission is going to be your week link. Both have the 4l65, so you might want to get the truck if it has 4.10 gears, or put those gears in the denali. If you need a low range t-case, well, the truck is the way to go.

That sounds better. How much weight are you planning to tow? Are you thinking about upgrading in the next few years?

My vote would be for the Denali if it meets your requirements. If you go with a Pickup spend a few extra dollars and get the 2500. Overkill is a good thing.
