I never towed with the stock hitch. A friend of mine told me the same thing you just said and recommended the the same hitch. That was the first thing I changed. The Tiger on a steel Myco and full of fuel was just too much weight. When I first purchased the GMC I had a 36' Eliminator. It pulled that thing like a dream. Later on after I sold the Tiger the next owner weighed the Tiger full of fuel and it was over 14k. The trailer I think weighed about 4500. That's well over the Gmc's limit and just over the Tow Boss limit.
