I must be stupid, whats "market adjustment" Dealers mark up the price because thats what the cars are going for elsewhere?

Also a big thing on limited production cars. I bought my wife a 30th anniversary Trans Am convertible for her 30th birthday and they tried to add 5K market adjustment. I fought it and got them to drop it but I still paid sticker for the car. They can do this because if you don't buy it, there are 20 people waiting for the car.

Remember back when the Acura NSX came out? Those things had like a $50K or more adjustment.

.

Worked at a factory owned Mercedes dealership on SL's we held people at sticker or better, Mercedes thought that for everyone that would'nt pay 20 more would, so no deals!

My Dad was waiting for my Mom's car and ended up walking around the auto mall. The Mazda dealer has a big poster display of the Miata, decided that I would like it and not only paid the adjustment, he wanted to be on top of the waiting list so he gave even more. I was glad that it was a hot seller because the adjustment gave me enough to trade it on a Vette and get cash back..... :evilb:

That might sound like alot but you do get the bragging rights to owning one of the first PT's. ;)
