fabtech lift kits
looking to raise the front end of my 1999 F-250 diesel as she sits about 2.5-3 inches lower than the rear. form a cost factor its only about $600 more to do the full 5.5" lift and the 5.5" kit comes with new front and rear shocks, springs and all new hardware. shes got just over 100k on her. any pros or cons ?

Re: fabtech lift kits
fabtech builds a nice kit. The only time we ever had a problem was the front spring packs sagged on us after 2years. They redid the design and replaced ours with a new set. This was on an F-350 CC LB but the 8" kit running 38"s. As for the shocks do a little bit more and double them up all the way around for a little better feel and double the stering stabilizer. Also for another option check out www.donahoeracing.com

Re: fabtech lift kits
I had a Fabtech lift on my last truck. While I didn't have any problems with the leaf springs I was dissapointed with the shocks leaking. I did have the doubles on the front as well. Fabtech did replace the shocks for me.....but the new ones leaked as well. Ovedrall though, I thought it was a pretty good lift kit.

Re: fabtech lift kits
I had a 5.5 kit on my 02 F-350........handled and worked well, but the
shocks and front springs rusted after 1 year.
Have not lifted my new truck yet ...but when I do I'm going to try
Donahue.

Re: fabtech lift kits
just had the 5.5 Fabtec kit installed...what a difference. truck rides better then when it was stock, lil rougher on choppy blacktop, but on the highway is amazing, and the slight donkey kick she had when hitting seperation lines in the highway is gone...
