Re: 2008 Ford Super Duty Article
I heard the price was going up ........alot.
A dealer told me this new engine was about $9,500.00
He also told me to stay away from it?
Anybody have any info on this? I was going to order a new truck and
now I'm skeptical. I have an 05 with 16,000 miles, so it's still got some
life in it and I could wait to avoid new engine problems.

Yeah I heard about a $10,000 price tag for the diesel too. But I think it's something all manufacturers will be doing because they all have to cut down on diesel emissions. So it's going to cost them more in engine development and they'll pass that cost down to the consumers.

I'm just passing along what he told me. I've purchased several trucks
from this guy.
He also told me to stay away from the 6 liter when it came out, I did
and he was on the money.

The truck looks and sounds good but I'll definately wait at least a year to see how the engine holds up. The VRT Turbo on my 6.0L decided to go out on me last weekend when I was pulling a 6K lb trailer, about four hours from home, I wasn't too impressed with ford at that point.
