It has been a few years since I played with sleds but, Featherlite followed by Pace would be my choice for best mass marketed. I know there are specialty trailers out there but don't know of any names just lots of dough. I ran a 4 spot Interstate, never a problem (lots of miles on it). 6 is big load though. you didn't mention what type and size machines but you can figure each will average 4'W x 10'L |

Re: Need Snow Mobile Trailer help
This weekend if your are in Crystal Lake stop by and see Adams Trailers on Rt 120 in McHenry. It is very close to where you will be. They is on of the the largest trailer dealers in the state. They will have a lot to look at and give you good advise on what you might need. The new thing in trailers for snowmobiles are the narrow versions that will hold sleds at a stagger. The idea is they are easier to tow and see around. I prefer the larger trailers myself. You are going to need a six place trailer which will be well over 30'. A 24' is only a 4 place which is what I have. My trailer that also will haul autos which comes in real handy at times. Mine is a steel trailer for the strength while some are aluminum. The aluminum trailers are more money, lighter and will not rust. Wells Cargo is a good brand. But there are a lot of good trailer manufacturers out there. Rule is you will get what you pay for. My brother is a partner in one of the largest trailer manufacturers in the Western states (Mirage).

A lot of wildside trailers are showing up at the racetracks these days. We have one and they seem to be good solid trailers. http://www.wildsidellc.com/default.html They are out of Tennessee.

Re: Need Snow Mobile Trailer help
Featherlite. They are more money but well worth it. I have had Wells Cargo, Pace and Triton. All enclosed. The 26' Featherlite I now have is a better trailer, hands down. Not that the others are bad, just not in the league.

Re: Need Snow Mobile Trailer help
Triton Pace Wells Cargo have best rep in Ontario
I would never have a six sled trailer. Pain in the ass. All you are is a bus for your buddies who very rarely get to go all at same time anyway. Too bluddy cumbersome. Popular trailers seen more and more up here are 2 sled single file trailers Easier to use mirrors while driving and backing up is a snap. I am in gravel business so I had trailer custom built to replicate dump trailer. Tilts so after opening barn doors on back end of trailer tilts so back is touching ground. I leave tilted while I sled for day and drive right in when finished. No ramps nothing No latches that freeze up quarter the wind resistence of one of those giant sails most people yank down the road. Enjoy your sledding. If you want me to look for good used 4 sled up here I would gladly help you. |
Re: Need Snow Mobile Trailer help
I have a 28' enclosed only it is for ATV's. It is a Classic trailer made out of Michigan and is very nice. It does take a decent sized truck to pull it. Pulls much different than a boat.
