Well, after going through 2 diffrent sets of wheels on my 06 Ford F350 dually 4x4(factory 17s with Toyo 285/70r17 ats,) and then tried a set of 22.5 Alcoa's with 255/70r22.5 Michelin XZEs run through adaptors. The factory wheels rode/drove great but were marginal when towing app. 11,000 lbs, the 22.5s were totally unacceptable due to the fact that the adaptors weighed in at app 38lbs apiece, the truck had to much unsprung weight rotating with the adapters/semi tires and Alcoas,, the ride was junk, the brakes sucked and destroyed the gearing due to tire height,(factory tire height was 31.4 and the 255/70r22.5 michelins were 36.1 tall) my truck has 4.30 gears and with the effective gearing due to the tire height I ended up with app 3.70 gears. I wouldn't reccomend the 22.5s to someone I didn't like, much less friends,, Well, I finally found the answer/compromise(for me at least) I ended up with a set of 19.5 predrilled classic wheels(look like the Alcoa's) from Brentz wheels and 265/70r19.5 Michelin XDE+2 tires,,direct bolt on/no adaptors, the heaviest wheel weight required with this combination was 4 oz on one of the rear wheels.and the tiruck rides/drives great, the ride is a little stiffer(but not objectionable) due to the commercial grade tires but thats to be expected, it tows the boat great, with no sway whatsoever, I'm a happy man now.
Just passing along information before someone else makes the same stupid(i:e expensive) mistake I did.

I've had Brentz 19.5's on my truck for years, I am a dealer for him. My dually is on his site as well....Great ride, well worth the money, I have toyo tires that ride like a dream...

brentz is the way to run, also for a little cheaper wheel bolt on is the american force 19.5

I considered the American Force wheels but the width is only 6" wide and the Brentz and Rickman wheels are 6 3/4" wide, the biggest tire they reccomend for the 6" is 245/70r19.5(33" tall) anything bigger than that and you have to start dropping the air pressure down to get the tires to lay flat on the road, and once you lower the air pressure you go back to having sway at hiway speeds while towing, and I wanted the taller tires to help compensate for the 4.30 gears in my truck.whereas the Brentz will accept 265/70r19.5s(a hair over 34" tall) It makes the effective gear ratio in my truck with the taller tires 3.93. & seems to be helping fuel mileage a little.(besides, it looks good)

What web site should i go to to get these 19.5 for my truck. i HAVE BEEN DEBATING on 22.5's but was scared about the weight of them also. I think i am going with the 19.5.

I'm running Rickson 19.5's with Goodyear g124 tires on my Dually. Pulls the 38' boat great, no problems. I have considered a 22.5 upgrade. Thanks for the info.

I Got mine through Aquasun Motorsports(dealt with Tyler) but I do believe that there are a couple of distributors for Brentz wheels on this board. The website is www.brentzwheels.com. I originally was going to go with Rickson wheels, but after waiting more than 6 months and being put off a couple of times, I started looking at other alternatives(hence how I got involved with trying the 22.5s)impatience and I could have them RIGHT NOW.you know it's gonna be bad when the adaptors to run the 22.5s weigh as much as the Alcoa wheels,,,,,,,stupid mistake on my part...If no one chimes in as being a distributor for Brentz, pm me and I'll hook you up with Aquasun/Tyler.
