Dean, I run the Airaid system on my 6.0, but like everyone else has said, no noticable gain without the exhaust & tuner.
The only advantage to the intake system without any other mods is that you won't have to replace that hi-dollar factory filter.

You will not see any gains, the only thing you will notice is slightly more noise which makes you think you have more power, but nothing by the seat of your pants. If you dont want to go through the trouble to add exhaust, get a very low hp chip or module, the best suggestion is just an SCT, or the Quadzilla's 65hp. EGT temps will never get to high so no gauges are needed or exhaust as well. You will then notice appr. 2 mpg if you can keep your foot out of it. Example: my 07 dually, 4.10 gears driving 75-78mph with cruise on I get 17-17.5 going to florida with family and luggage. I accelarate briskly here and there but thats about it. If you want more power than SCT is the only choice. On the Fords it is the only one that adds line pressure to the tranny lines and actually is the only one that shifts properly. On the higher hp applications it will also lock in and out the torque converter. Edge Plat. will work but not properly on levels above 3. It is not always the most power/tq that wins, it is who can get that power to the ground effectivly. Good luck. Jeff

Jeff,
Thanks, I'll guess I'll just stay with the OEM air filter. The truck only has ~5000 miles on it, and I want to keep the warrenty intact.

TTT, after looking @ the $ for the OEM replacement filter, I'm back thinking about putting a cold air intake.
Recommendations guys?
Thanks,
Dean

I liked the way the Airaid system fit. I installed a K&N system for one of my customers and didn't klike the way it assembled/fit. It's laying on the floor in the office(I didn't even finish the install) It could be had real cheap. If ya want to mess with it, let me know. I'm in Orlando. the K&N part# is 57-2546.
