Default 2006 F-350 Brake Suggestions

I'm going ot need tires and brakes before the upcoming boat season. Any brands or upgrades I should consider. I'm probably going to put the 19.5 wheels and tires on for the summer, and I'm wondering if the brakes are going to need to be beefed up. Thanks

On friday I am installing Powerslot rotors and Hawk LTS pads on my F-350 diesel. I wasn't really looking for any improvement but I figured why go with the stock stuff when I can upgrade for less.

I'll post up some results on monday.

I can’t answer for you on aftermarket brakes. My 2000 pull and stops my 10k 5th wheel trailer no problem. But I will say this I put Bosch Ceramic pads on the front and I love them. Low dust and no noise.

Here are the results of my brake upgrade. I used the Powerslot rotors on both front and rear and used Hawk LTS pads. My truck stopped fine before, but just needed pad replacement due to mileage. Now with this setup I feel at least 25% less pedal pressure required to make the same stops as before. And the hotter you get them the better they stop. I am very happy with the outcome and can't wait to test them with my boat in tow.

Did you go with Braided SS Brake lines as well? (From the rigid tubing to the caliper?) This will also improve your braking, without a lot of work. I plan to do this on my F-350 Dually.

Smitty,
Is your F350 a dually and 4x4,,,I've got a powerslot distributor, and was told about 6wks ago that the rotors weren't available for my truck yet(06 f350 dually 4x4)..But I've been married, so obviously I'm used to being lied to. lol

For what its worth. I went with the 19.5s from Brentz wheels and 265/70r19.5 michelins and have no regrets. And now that I have the rolling stock taken care of, I wanted more better brakes.
