I finally have a few interior pictures to post. Here are the gauges being installed. The factory tach and speedo had the turn signal indicators built into the gauge, so we had to find another place for the indicators with these gauges. One of the guys in the shop made these "bumps" for the indicators to mount in (using fiberglass). The indicators look huge in these pictures because of the angle, but they look great when the panel is in the car.

The third picture is obviously the console. Notice how they got a nice finished look around the air ride controls in the ash tray. Mounted here it slides in the dash completely out of sight when you don't need it, but it still has to look good when you open it, right?

A few more pictures of the console. The AC controls, radio and console gauges are all installed. We ended up using a hand lever for the parking brake because the roll cage blocks the area where the factory foot pedal was located. The hand lever is tucked in beside the console on the driver's side. One more thing, we are changing to a short shifter boot so that the chrome shaft on the shifter will show like it should.

A better shot of the houndstooth material on the seats and door panels. The Mastercraft seats look like they belong in there now that they match the rest of the interior. I am not crazy about the way they did the radius corners in the back down by the floor. We may be re-doing this to make it look like one piece. Oh yea, the white lines on the upholstery around a lot of the seams is just chalk from marking the fabric. That will be gone when the car gets cleaned up.

We are looking to get the car on the road and start the shakedown miles by the middle of this coming week. The windshield and rear glass are going in on Monday and the rest of the interior should be buttoned up by then as well. Then all that will be left are some small odds and ends on the exterior (trim pieces, wipers, etc.). We are getting close.

I can't wait to get it finished. The closer it gets the more anxious I get. I'll have more pics this week and will see if I can get some digital videos of it to post here.

Ive been watching this build, great job, and extremely rewarding. It reminds me of my 69 302....I loved that car, but this one looks better. I really like all the custom one off pieces that make it more modern and user friendly, but still keeping some of the old school look. Great project. Jeff

The new tires went on the car today and it will be back on the ground tomorrow. The windshield and rear glass also went in today (a week later than expected due to July 4th). This thing is about 95% complete now. There are still some miscellaneous pieces left to go on the car (seat belts, door panels, rear spoiler, etc), but the car will be taking it's first drive down the road tomorrow (had to wait for a windshield)!!! I'll keep you posted.

The car is on the ground and was actually driven today. It was only up and down the driveway and around the neighborhood, but it is good to see it running!

Here are a bunch of miscellaneous pictures of the car that were taken over the past few days. I will load the videos to Putfile and post them here some time tonight or tomorrow.
