They are from Boyd Coddington. They are the Smoothie II 5 (Classic Collection Series) and are 17x8 in the front and 18x10 in the rear.

They will do any back spacing or special requirements you might need. Notice our back spacing specs written on the inside of the wheels. The first picture is the front wheel and the second picture is the rear wheel. Once we got to test fit them to be sure they were right, we sent them out to be polished and coated (like the Alcoa wheels with the dura-brite finish) so I won't have to polish them. The wheels should be back this coming week. One thing I noticed in these wheel pictures is that the painter forgot to smooth out the sealer in the driver's side rear wheel well. We have talked to them and the car will be going back so that they can smooth it out and repaint the wheel well. They said that it was not a problem and could be done in a day. We'll see.

This car is why you don't have my boat engines right now setting them up for 1200hp with the quad rotor EFI stuff we talked about. I don't want to make that deal with you until I have the final tally and all of the bills paid for the car. I was hoping to have it finished for this week (cruisin' OC), but it's obviously running a little bit behind schedule. For any of you that like hot rods and muscle cars, you need to get to OC this week for this event.

Here is a picture of just one of the car show locations last year. Every car in this lot is a hot rod or muscle car. There are multiple shows happening at the same time, not to mention all of the people just running around and raising hell. It's a great time.

Time for another update. The car is coming along really well and should be ready to fire some time this coming week. After that it goes to the interior shop to get the upholstery work and interior done. Then it will finally be finished!

Here is the heat shield installed on the passenger side foot well. The second picture shows the AC compressor installed. The AC lines run straight over to the fender and then go back to the firewall behind the fender so they are out of sight. The third picture is the air ride system in the trunk of the car. It is mounted on a slide out tray so it will be easy to get to for any maintenance. When it is finished it will be hidden by a removable panel. As you can see, we also mounted the battery in the trunk to help clean up the engine compartment. The wood and other raw materials showing will be upholstered at the interior shop.

The first picture is an overall shot of the engine. The green cardboard is a template for a polished aluminum piece that will be made to cover the top of the water pump and the gap between it and the engine. The second picture shows the radiator and fans installed. You can also see the reservoir for the power steering and brakes in this picture. The guys made the bracket for the reservoir in house and it looks great. The third picture shows the glass, door handles, locks and mirrors installed. We have just decided to switch the mirrors to the round ones that came on the 67, so these rectangular ones from 68/69 will be removed. We initially went with the rectangular ones for better visibility (larger mirror), but we like the looks of the round ones better.

The first picture shows the driving lights installed. We are going to modify the bracket a bit so that they will sit flush in the holes. Right now they hang out of the hole too much and don't look right. The second picture is the same thing, but with the lights on. The third picture shows the engine without the template covering the top of the water pump. In this picture you can see the area that will be covered by the aluminum piece explained in the post above.
