H2/Dealership issues

H2/Dealership issues
I bought my wife a new H2 in 2003. Probably one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Serviced by my selling dealer. Not anymore...In a nutshell:
Windshield Wiper Blades: $80.00
Water Pump: (Went out at 40,000 miles) $859.00
Brake Job: They couldn't give me a price because they have never done one on an H2 before.
Two Cables that keep the hood from flipping over when open: $60.00 and they wouldn't warranty them after they rusted out to nothing.
I ended up taking it in for a brake job at the guy who services my company vehicles after they are out of warranty....$325.00
I still like the vehicle but then GM wonders why the competition is kicking their butts.

Are those gold plated wiper blades?

When I saw that I went back to my Service Writer and asked if that was correct. He said YES, and it's because their Hummer Blades (I think I must have been wearing my "I'm Stupid" shirt) I told him that those blades just cost them alot of money because they won't be seeing me there anymore! That's what I get for being lazy and not changing them myself

Water pump on a GM 6 liter should only be about $ 350-400. Actually I would think warranty because of low mileage?
Wipers- OMG are they a Hummer only size?
Brakes- GM brakes $ 250 sounds right.
There are only a certain amount of Hummer dealers.

AutoZone for the windshield wipers, about $15.00 per pair for the best ones! (They'll even put them on for you!)
I'll go to the dealership in INDY or Valpo if I have to.
The water pump deal was funny too. I have a lifetime warranty on the new one. I asked why the old one didn't have a lifetime warranty and he said "I guess we feel bad that your original one went bad so early and you had to pay so much for the new one so we're giving you a deal on this one" (I'm not kidding!)

About three years GM was going to start buying back dealerships to run as company owned dealership, and the whole dealer network went nuts...lawsuits pending, monopoly take over, and they finally gave up. Bad dealers hurt GM big time.
