This is a tough one for me cause I'm a Porsche fan. Between the Boxster and the Z4, the latter is a better drivers sports car....Do I have to say more?

My Mom has had BMW rag tops since 1988 (325's) and her current car is a 03 Z4 3.0 not an M.... Have not tried the newest Z4 M; BMW has improved the handling, plus the M has a better auto sequential (sp?) tranny. Guessing that the M Z4 is know way ahead of the other's in this class of car.

Why don't you look at the new 08 Audi TT? The new generation TT will be out any day now. The 3.2 DSG Quattro will do 0-60 in 5.3, has Quattro awd and is alot more user friendly than the BMW.

Get her a VW Jetta ragtop, with the turbo 4 You'll save big coin, and its basically a detuned Audi, with out all the class. Some of the same German feel. VW owns Audi, Lambo, Bently, and a few others. Sandy had a 04 BMW 545I 6-speed, we loved the car, lost it in the storm, but like any thing when you get into to these HI-Perf. M series it to me is like a 1075 Merc. You love the power but sometimes can be finicky, and always costly to repair. Good Luck on whatever you get her. Jeff
