What boat & trailers actually weigh
 

I happened to be getting the boat out of storage and then stopping by the grain elevator to pick up some fertilizer last week, when I noticed their scale was empty, so I dropped the trailer to get the combo weighed. Manufacturer specs say the boat ways 4,600 LBS, tandem steel loadmaster trailer. Before storing I pulled the drive and the battery, and topped off the 80 gallon tank. Total weight 7,180 LBS. I was a little surprised since it is 28', BBC single. I can not count the number of threads that I have seen about Will vehicle “X” pull boat “Y”? and have always wondered what the actual weight of my own boat was and thought I would share it. Does anybody have any scale numbers for their boats? I would like to see something in the 32’-38’ range. (P.S. Scale cost $5.00)

my twin sbc 29 Beek wieghs 9500 on the tandem steel trailer with 1/2 tank of fuel and all our chit for the weekend.......Fountain manual says the boat wieghs 5800 or something like that.......trailer is suppused to wiegh about 1200.......doug

.38 special with 1/2 tank fuel, all toys and coolers on a 45' aluminum triple axle trailer: 1500 tounge. 13600lbs total:

(old boat) 1999 Sonic 26' Prowler fully loaded; almost full tank (90 of 102 gallons), gear, anchor, tools, cockpit cover & full boat cover, spare tire; all on tandem axle aluminum Rocket trailer: 7280 lbs.
Dry weight of boat: 5050 lbs.

Fuel is 6 lbs. per gallon.
Water in your holding tanks and fresh water tanks 8 lbs. per gallon.

THEN we add subwoofers, extra batteries, amplifiers, sea strainers, mufflers... the list goes on.

I would say that at least 50% of the community has no idea how quickly and heavy everything adds up when towing; not to mention what GCWR, GAWR, weight distributing vs. weight carrying hitch; axle, wheel, and tire weight ratings; etc. etc.

Thanks, I hear a lot of estimates and seems most are low. I am still surprised at the weight the trailer and the gear add to the total.

Formula said my F402sr1 is 10500 dry. Was told it's around 13500 with no extras:eek: Truck is 11020lbs with 1/2 tank fuel and no extras. I will be weighing the trailer and boat by this fall.

the boat/trailer 17640 . Both full of fuel .
