Anybody know what the most likely cause for a "service load level" light to be on? Just bought a 2500 8.1L sub for a tow vehicle and the light was on when I bought it, as a matter of fact everyone I test drove with that option had the light on.

Never seen that light on our 05 Yukon XL 2500.

My 03 2500 Yukon XL with 8.1 has never had the warning light on.

do you hear the pump running when you turn the key to on? I haven't messed with one of those systems but other than checking the fuse(s), it might be a blown shock. I think the leveling is integrated onto the shock. could be a bad pump or a bad level sensor.

I thought the 2500 Yukon/Suburban did not have leveling system, only a system that adjusts the firmness of the shocks based on conditions? You should do a search on RV.net or one of the other towing forums. I've never found a good Yukon/Suburban forum.

i believe that's a hard code only the dealer can remove.

It's an 02. I have heard from a friend that does car and truck wholesale, he said almost all the ones he had sold had the warning light on, the ones he had repaired turned out to be bad shocks.

Correction from first post. The warning light is "service ride control"

look at the r/front shock,make sure the a/c line is not rubbing on the sensor.
if it is, slightly bent the a/c line out of the way and make sure the connector is ok at the sensor
