Default Gm 6l

Any of you guys have any experience with the 6 liter gas GM?

Pros??

Cons??

Should I even consider one that has 105k mi.?

Thats about 30k more miles than what I had in mind, but the truck is super clean and in way better overall condition than most of the same year/model trucks that I have looked at with 70k ish. mi.

Thoughts??

It's a great motor. It's just not happy in 3/4 ton applications with a 4l80e behind it. The first gear is too tall and it takes a lot of power to turn it which makes everyone think the 6.0L is a pig.
In a van or worktruck that doesn't pull anything, it's perfectly fine. Anything over 6-7k lbs and you probably won't be happy without upgrades.

Have one in my 2500 Burban and Id' have to agree with that!

Mine also makes a noise at idle, almost sounds like a rod knock and GM says it's normal.. It's been doing it for a long time... I never really looked into it but it sounds like bottom end or trans.... 6

60K miles and other than the knock it runs great.
