I recently bought (7)new 16" aluminum star wheels for my trailer to replace the 16.5" aluminum rims I had been running. I dealt with a place in Ohio, Sparks of Imagination. Their website is: [url]www.trailertiresandwheels.com

They had excellent service and pricing. I could not find a better deal for what I was looking for. Shipped on-time, when promised, and packaged well.

I'm not sure if anyone bought the Stainless cased lug nuts from Summit racing, but I did, and it was a BIG mistake. The casing over the lug nuts spins and/or comes off, and you can't get the actual lug nut off until you beat an impact socket onto it, and muscle it off.

Just about everything Summit sells that isn't a recognizable name brand is "Harbor Freight Quality".

They were the name brand "Gorilla" and have a lifetime guarantee against rust, but only a 90 day functional warranty.

I'm going to soak what's left of them in salt water so they send me a new full set. Then at least I'll have a brand new set of POS lug nuts.

I stopped into the local "deals on wheels" clearing house that sells all the Dubs and import 4-wheelers yesterday. I bought a full set of tall chrome lug nuts, and the distributor gave me a 12-month warranty on rusting. Little does he know I'm going to take him up on it!

Spray 'em with your favorite brand of corrosion guard. You might end up not needing the warranty.

Sunkin, how does Parkerizing hold up to salt & heat?

Parkerizing works well but it needs oil. It's funny you should mention that- I have been meaning to pull the "rust-free" lugs off of my Excursion and park them, then coat them with a dry-film that's made for military firearms. The problem is the socket mars the finish and you're back where you started. The holes in the Weld's are too small for those lined sockets.

I keep the tall sst lugs in stock.. Use em on all our trailers now to protect the threads from rusting outside the lug and making em a bear to get off..
