Pookie what actuator are you using? Disc brakes??

I ran an 2005 king ranch with the ford controller and pulled lots of different boat trailers with it. The only problem I had was sometimes with a myco the dash would show that the trailer was not plugged in but the trailer brakes still worked.

Okay back on this thread.

Myco messed up the instalation on the Brakerite II unit and one of the weather pack connectors was not grounding properly and it was a real mess to finally get this resolved. Bottom line is the unit fried and had to be completely replaced.

The P3 is okay but requires too much adjustment for different driving situations.

I now have a complete NEW Brakerite II unit on the trailer and I went with a Max Brake controller and WOW it is awesome.

They work very well together and with the truck. It is VERY smooth and works off the truck brake pressure and there is no delay, no advance braking, no nothing except smooth perfect braking.

I would recommend this setup to anyone.

Dock did you install the new max brake controller?
Did the lines all have to be rebleed?

Yes I did the install myself and it took maybe thirty minutes.

No you do not have to bleed the brakes. It is real easy to connect will not even make a mess.

The unit is not real pretty or maybe I should say it looks different then most but it works GREAT.

Sorry for the delay in response. I have a Myco tandem dually and just plug it in. The actuator is built in to the truck.

Sorry Pookie I was refering to the Hydraulic pump that actuates the brakes rather than the in cab controller

Not sure.I'll look tonight

Dock, why did you go with the II model over the standard unit?

Are you guys running trickle chargers? Mine is supposed to have one included in the kit, but dam if I see one. Even the web sites shows nothing. Only thing odd is postage stamp size circut board with 3 wires. 2 in and 1 out to the + of battery. Looks like a diode or resistor possibly under the shrink tubeing on that circut board. Is that the charger?
