22.5's or 19.5's
I have read most of the posts on the site about 22.5 wheels. Has anyone purchased from the following site?

I saw an add on a truck forum, and they offer a set of alcoa 22.5's with hancook tires, adapters, and steel inners for 3900.00
I have read that the 22.5's vibrate, and ride like sh@t. Is this the case? Can the tires be run low to compensate for the stiffness of the large tires? I have a 06 f350 dually 4wd diesel. I drive my truck approx 400 miles per day, and like the way it rides right now. I have 17" factory wheels with upsized Toyo tires.
I also looked up Brentzwheels, but would like some feedback. I think I could get my hands on a set of factor 450 wheels that I think are 19.5's. I am not sure they will fit.

You may want to compare the rolling radius of your present tires to the rolling radius of any different tire size...Any tire dealer can furnish the numbers.
As you go from 17's to 22.5's ,I would guess the 22.5 's will have 20% less revolvutions/mile....While that may sound like a good thing,it will effect the engine power band...Fuel mileage and performance may go down...Power train heat will go up....Of course you can change the axle ratios and get back in the ball park of where you were....But then,I wonder how it is going to handle,is the warrantee effected,how will the hitch work,will you like it.....

19.5's cost more to replace then 22.5's yes they may ride harder. you can run them down to about 75 to 80 lbs and be ok since you are not running them on a semi. I have 22.5 on my truck. also 22.5 will last double 19.5 on miles before you have to replace them.

I am in the process of buying a 38 formula. I like the truck stock, but would like the look of the bigger wheels and tires.
My dad has an 08 f250 king ranch with 20" stock wheels, and next to my truck, it looks alot better.
All of our Dump Trucks run 24 5 tires on them, and I have one Peterbuilt 389 on a dump trailer running 22 5's.
Pictures of F350's with the 22 5's look awesome, but for as much as I use my truck, I am afraid the truck will not hold up. For as much as I use it, I may just leave well enough alone.
One night on my way home from New Orleans, I was crossing the Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge, and got stuck in traffic. When I got to the scene of the accident, I saw a black guy in a suburban, lowered to the ground that had lost his new front wheel half way up the bridge, and was sitting on the front spindle and adapter. The wheel broke off, and rolled down the bridge.
Ever since then, I am afraid of adapters.

The worst part about the 22.5s is the bolt on adapters and all the unsprung weight of bigger heavier wheels and tires. The least of your worries is the ride. The most important thing to remember is that your stock braking system is NOT going to cut the mustard. You will significantly increase your braking distances, both towing and not towing.
IF you go with 22.5s, you will definitely need to upgrade your brakes; rotors, calipers, and pads, as well as stainless steel brake lines.
My money (when I have time to mess with it) will be going to www.ricksontruck.com for a full set of aluminum 19.5s; direct bolt ons.
I do not think that any of the 19.5 F450/F550 wheels will bolt on to F350s. I believe the circle is bigger on the Ford OE 19.5s.

f450 f550 have a bigger bolt hole pattern I would reccomend the Brentz over the adapter and 22.5 with a 22.5 you will have to do some suspension work/ or trimming to get them to fit with a 19.5 no suspension to mess with.

I tried the 22.5s on my 06 F350 dually and the up side is they looked cool, the down side is, diminished braking, harsh ride, vibration, excessive wear on the hubs/bearings/driveline, the adaptors are way to heavy,, I went to Brentz wheels and went with the 19.5s direct fits and 265/70r19.5 Michelin xde+2s and have been plenty happy with the compromise.
Just my personal opinion, garnered from EXPERIENCE.
The F450 wheels will not fit your truck(different/bigger bolt pattern)

Been looking to do the same conversion on my 07 PSD dually. Decided I'm going to put a "leveling kit" on it and get roughly 34 inch tires on stock wheels and call it good. Towing is more important, that's the only time the truck leaves the driveway anyway.

The 19.5 direct fits from Brentz allowed me to use 14 ply 265/70r19.5s that are 34.4 tall and I used nothing but a 2 1/2" leveling kit on mine with no clearance issues whatsoever.
I tend to overbuild everything I do, better to er on the side of safety.
