Default Anybody Do This

I live in MI and am looking at a boat in New Hampshire. If I purchase this boat the shortest route is through Canada. I was curious if anybody has gone this route and what exactly is needed to transport a boat through customs.

My wife wants to go along on the trip and bring the kids, so I want to make sure there aren't any problems.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would call the border and ask them what paperwork you need. I just sold a motorcycle to a Canadian we had to fax some documents to the border and give them a 24 hour notice and he said it was pretty easy. Since you would just be traveling through yours should be easier, all the complaints I have heard are on the US side not the Canadian side. Good Luck

Thanks. I will have to give them a call to see what I need.

Let us know what you find out. I was wondering about trailering to upstate NY next yr. And quickest route would be thru Canada.
I do think Port Huron would be better than Detroit entry point.
