They put some BIG engines in those tractors and they're not buzzing along at interstate speeds. It's a real event when you see them- there's usually 3 or 4 chase cars and a half-dozen Highway Patrol cars. I'd hate to get the bill for one of those moves.

Hey Chris you think my F-250 could tow that safley? I'll go slow and not too far. I also have air bags and a WD thingy

Couldn't see why not, assuming you're going to be "really careful".

When I was at the local utility company some years back, if we needed a transformer (huge substation x-formers) transported, these are the type of rigs they would use. Also had black boxes attached to the x-former to record the amount of shock that the transformer had to absorb during the trip. Many of these units can disconnect from the tractor and power themselves into tight quarters (which most substations are pretty tight). These rigs usually ran no more than 3 - 5 mph. Pretty impressive hardware.
